The Modern Tradition
Climate change is one important source of inspiration for this project, by researching the issues climate change presents to the world, I have gained a better understanding of its causes and effects. Throughout this project I conducted research and development through a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner. By using sustainable and biodegradable yarns such as wool, cotton, paper, and bamboo in order to obtain the environmentally adaptive results I was originally looking for. The collection is based on the trend and philosophy of Japandi, which is a hybrid aesthetic of Japanese and Scandinavian. Both share similar principles of simplicity and take into account the surrounding environment. These fundamentals present themselves in the earthy colours and natural feeling of my collection.
