The adaptability of cosplay: how can they be adapted to work for everyday wear and conventions
This study investigated the adaptability of cosplays, to create a collection of fashionable and functional garments which would explore how cosplays can be adaptable for both everyday wear and for cosplays. Cosplay is a combination of ‘costume’ and ‘play’ and refers to the act of donning a costume to become a character. Research showed that currently the top fandoms are My Hero Academia, Critical Role, Final Fantasy and Good Omens which were the fandoms each garment would be based on. The study could potentially have been successful however, more research would have to be done since the community is still growing with new fandoms being generated all the time. What may work with one cosplay may not work for another.
