"An investigation in Scottish Textile and Garment Production and closed loop systems.
The project was focused on current manufacturing of textiles and garments in Scotland and the opportunity that closed loop systems could offer within the industry.
The collection was designed to have longevity and functionality integral to the designs. The decisions were informed by questionnaires focused on the respondents’ attitude of buying and caring for clothing and industry interviews looking at how they ‘close the loop’ within their production.
Sourcing, usage of fabric and functionality were the main drivers in the collection. Usable remnants of the fabrics were used to create unique accessories.
This collection was for bespoke tailors Stewart Christie & Co. of Edinburgh."
