Grey Skies, White Snow
The collection aimed to develop a contemporary womenswear collection exploring the thematic links between fashion and culture, more specifically how gothic and horror themes translate throughout cultures such as USA, UK and Japan.
The collection represents my interests and style as a designer, as I draw inspiration from the past and the present, from vintage films to current eclectic streetwear as seen in Harajuku. The initial research began with the appreciation for vintage cinema, in particular the first horror film with sound, Dracula.
I took inspiration from the moods, scenery and motifs of Dracula rather than producing a collection inspired by costume.
