It is predicted that by 2050 143 million people will be displaced by extreme weather events caused by climate change. Rising sea levels are one of the main issues the UK faces, posing a threat to inhabitants of coastal towns.

Exploring the concept of an environmental refugee, the coastal town of Leith was used as a case study to research the demographics of possible displaced individuals. The ‘young professional’ user informed the spaces that would support migration from urban life.
The proposal of a highland ‘migration centre’ seeks to integrate residents into a new rural community where they can rebuild and continue their lives though major spaces that relate to work, play and living.
