Minimal in Disguise is a mixed-use building located in Hong Kong. This Final Major project aims to develop this building into a multi-functional complex consisting of workspaces, community spaces and affordable residential units for young adults who are transitioning into the working world. In a densely packed city that is renowned for competitive and expensive property market, this project proposes a modular housing system with minimal requirement for habitation with a vision on a ‘subscription’ based housing to help address the issue of affordable housing. Using this idea to offer a place that can be adaptable and flexible for residents. This could lead to the fundamental goal of cheaper housing both in terms of buying and building homes.
