Florescence

Florescence is a collection about embracing femininity, capturing the elegant and empowering sides of women. The collection followed the lasted trend for ‘Couture’ with embellishments and layers being a key feature. Furthermore, I also incorporated my own style into my collection. To do this, the colour palette was made up of my favourite colours, embellishments are added to represent my personality and to add a feminine feel so the designs.

The collection was inspired by natures beauty, flowers. I conveyed this through watercolour paintings with a soft delicate palette and feel. Abstract painterly grounds were also experimented with the soft, delicate feel still being present throughout.

The design process explores digital printing and the use of layers to build a design. Organza and Paris chiffon are layered on top of silk with each layer having the same or different prints on each. Fabric manipulation is also explored through beading and sequins for texture and shine.

The final collection consists of 7 designs for evening wear gowns.
